Here’s a story that won’t get much coverage in the Western media, but which is absolutely key to the geopolitics of the region. Russia’s President, Vladimir Putin, is scheduled to visit Iran in mid-October. Not only would this indicate a massive snub towards Bush and the warmongers (sounds like a rock band), but it will act as an endorsement of the Iranian nuclear programme.

According to reports the two-sides will be discussing bilateral relations, not just over the Bushehr reactor which the Russians are helping Iran with, but also about trade, security and energy.

In my opinion, with such developments, an attack on Iran remains very unlikely at least during the rest of the Bush administration.
